The Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Program
relies on the assistance of government-paid
employees to function. The team is made up of:

1. Director of the Program (Ad honorem) :
Dr. Efrain Montesinos procures donations of medical
equipment, supplies, medicine, and their transportation
from the U.S. to Lima, then clears them through
customs. He trains the assistants and surgical residents,
and performs surgery on patients with complex
pathology referred to the program.

2. Coordinator of the Program(Ad honorem) :
Mrs. Maria Montesinos is in charge of the
administration of the donated materials,
medicines and equipment of the Program.
She acts as the liaison between the patient,
the family and the physicians, maintains the list
of patients preparing for surgery, documents the
donations to each patient and prepares the monthly
report to the administration of the hospital and PAMS.

5. Three Cardiothoracic Surgical Residents

6. Eleven Intensive Care Nurses

7. Two Operating Room Nurses

8. Six Nurse's Assistants

9. Two Perfusionists

10. One office nurse
